Overview
Anteprima is a womenswear and accessories house founded in 1993 by Japanese designer Izumi Ogino, conceived in Milan after Ogino’s earlier career building Italian brands in Asia. The label joined Milano Moda Donna within five years, positioning itself as a modern, internationally minded wardrobe built on minimalism, refined texture and an easy sense of sophistication. Ogino’s background between Tokyo, Hong Kong and Milan is often cited as a driver of the brand’s borderless point of view.
A distinctive commercial signature is the Wirebag, introduced in 1998 and produced through hand-knit techniques using an exclusive metallic ‘wire’ material. The Wirebag evolved into a long-running icon with seasonal colour and shape updates, while the ready-to-wear has moved between DNA knitwear, relaxed tailoring, fluid dresses and outerwear, usually in tonal palettes and clean proportions.
Across categories, Anteprima’s emphasis is on polished wearability—pieces designed to move from day to evening without heavy styling intervention.
Philosophy
Official brand statements frame Anteprima as “timeless, effortless and sophisticated” design for modern women, intended to last season after season. Minimalism, essential shapes and tonal hues are presented as the route to confidence and inner strength, suggesting empowerment through clarity rather than through excess.
Craft and material pleasure sit alongside that restraint. The Wirebag is described as a companion object that balances high-tech materials with timeless craftsmanship, with confidence, strength and playfulness treated as compatible qualities. More broadly, the brand positions itself as “smart, precious with love”: a versatile wardrobe that stays ageless and adaptable while allowing small, personal pops of character through texture, finish and refined details.
Official biographies also underline inspiration drawn from travel and multiple art forms, and an interest in jewellery, floral design and make-up, treated as adjacent crafts. The label’s messaging repeatedly returns to versatility—clothes for women “who draw their own lives”—and to the idea that a quiet wardrobe can still carry personality through surface and handwork.
