About this collection
A.F. Vandevorst presented Autumn/Winter 2017–18 at Espace Comines on 2 July 2017 after being invited onto the Paris haute-couture schedule. The context gave the founders greater freedom of format at a moment when the conventional ready-to-wear business was approaching a decisive contraction.
Substantial footwear, reworked utilitarian material and Stephen Jones headwear carried established house codes into the couture-week setting. The invitation did not convert A.F. Vandevorst into a recognised haute-couture house; it was a guest presentation by designers whose construction remained rooted in their independent ready-to-wear and craft practice.
