A.F. Vandevorst

Spring/Summer 2000 placed A.F. Vandevorst inside the Paris calendar while refusing a conventional large-room runway. The founders chose the Piscine Oberkampf, where capacity was limited to roughly fifty guests at a time.

The restriction became the form of the event: the models repeated the collection through four consecutive presentations for divided groups of press and buyers. The exhausting rhythm made repetition and intimacy part of the show and reinforced the house’s preference for using architectural limitations as creative structure.
