About this collection
Regulated Gravity joined the upper of a formal leather loafer to a thick, lightweight EVA sneaker sole. Launched through noon in July 2021 for Spring/Summer 2022, the shoe translated AKIKOAOKI’s tension between institutional dress and bodily freedom into a repeatable commercial product.
The model became the foundation of the brand’s footwear business, appearing in faux leather, cowhide, patent and textured variations while introducing a wider audience to the runway label.
