About this collection

Riforma is Archivio J.M. Ribot’s continuing series of one-of-a-kind garments assembled from parts of early twentieth-century clothing and vintage hardware. Each piece changes the source object’s use, proportion or gender coding while preserving its old seams, pockets, fastenings and surface wear.

The programme is often associated with womenswear in retail presentation, but its construction moves across categories: menswear cloth can become a cropped top, skirt or dress, and tailoring fragments can be reorganised around a new body. Riforma was active by Autumn/Winter 2019; its exact launch date remains unresolved.
