About this collection
The 52nd couture collection treated illusion as labour. Raw linen was hand-painted for hundreds of hours to imitate houndstooth, denim, python and fur, while traditional lace and tailoring were set against a CAD-designed, 3D-printed suit of armour. The contrast between analog brushwork and industrial fabrication placed couture at a temporal crossroads, where the value of an object lay in the extremity of process rather than the apparent luxury of its surface.
