Demna’s final Balenciaga collection returned couture to the body, the atelier and the social codes of bourgeois dress. Neapolitan tailoring ateliers introduced the fluid spalla camicia shoulder, allowing similar suits to adapt to radically different physiques, while Hollywood references and extreme handwork gave the farewell ceremonial weight. The presentation closed a decade in which Demna had moved from streetwear disruption to a highly personal defence of garment construction.
