About this collection
Shown in New York, Autumn/Winter 2002 developed the protective side of Ghesquière’s Balenciaga through shearling-lined motorcycle jackets, hard outerwear and urban utility. The motorcycle jacket became a durable house product and sat beside the emerging Lariat bag as evidence that subcultural leather could support both a runway vocabulary and a long commercial afterlife.
