About this collection
Demna’s first Balenciaga collection applied the founder’s logic of displaced volume to contemporary office clothes, puffers and street-level accessories. Jackets were pulled off the shoulder into a new swing line, skirts and trousers distorted familiar corporate proportion, and the striped Bazar shopper converted a market bag archetype into luxury leather. The debut immediately established that the archive would be used as a method rather than a costume.
