About this collection
Balenciaga’s Autumn/Winter 2017 menswear show introduced the Triple S, developed with footwear designer David Tourniaire-Beauciel. Its oversized sole combined the moulds of running, basketball and track shoes into a deliberately cumbersome stack. The sneaker became a global status object and accelerated the luxury market’s shift towards the so-called dad shoe, with consequences far beyond Balenciaga’s own footwear business.
