Balenciaga

ClairObscur developed Piccioli’s Balenciaga through light absorption and reflection. Dense black tailoring, fluid silk, structured leather and evening silhouettes created a wardrobe whose form changed with the way surfaces caught the room. A film collaboration with Sam Levinson extended the chiaroscuro premise into moving image, while J.M. Weston footwear connected the collection’s formal register to traditional French shoemaking.
