About this collection
The One-Seam coat represents Balenciaga’s pursuit of maximum form with minimum cutting. A continuous piece of double cloth was shaped through internal darts and folding so that sleeve and body read as one controlled plane. The apparent simplicity concealed an exact pattern system, making the garment a concise demonstration of how technical reduction could produce greater volume and movement.
