About this collection
Spring/Summer 2002 placed embroidered and patchworked tops against loose stonewashed Tencel cargo trousers in a deliberately unstable high-low mix. Presented in a reduced format after 11 September, the collection rejected the period’s polished luxury uniform and gave utility clothing a new editorial authority. Its influence was substantial, though the season also carries a documented appropriation controversy involving a vest derived from a 1970s design by Kaisik Wong.
