About this collection
Ghesquière’s final Balenciaga collection returned to black and white, flamenco-inflected ruffles and controlled sculptural form. Presented before his departure was announced, the season now reads as a compressed closing statement: Spanish reference, technical discipline and a refusal of easy softness. Its later significance was intensified by the public dispute over corporate pressure that followed his exit.
