Antonin Tron’s first Balmain collection comprised 54 looks and was presented at a former industrial site in Paris’s 14th arrondissement. Archive references from 1946 and 1953 informed broad shoulders, drape, animal motifs, lighter construction and what Tron called controlled opulence.
