Spring 2019 transformed the Classic Car Club into a vivid Texas-inflected runway environment, with a hot-pink floor, customised vehicles and tailgate references framing a collection that pushed the house further into colour and American sportswear. Clean tailoring and evening silhouettes remained intact, but the presentation made exuberance, hospitality and a more expansive brand world part of the clothes’ public identity.

The season also crystallised Maxwell’s growing interest in accessories and adjacent image systems: the transparent acrylic rosé bag became a highly visible object, while the MAC cosmetics collaboration launched in the same runway period. Together they made the show a concise expression of the label’s pre-pandemic expansion.
