About this collection

Love from Gamilaraay opened Australian Fashion Week on 11 May 2026 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia with twenty-five looks by Colleen Tighe Johnson. The collection drew on the Mehi River, the Gwydir Valley and the strength of Murris people, moving between fluid resort silhouettes, sheer layers, tailoring and vivid commissioned textile imagery.

The runway represented the label’s most prominent national presentation to date and arrived alongside an expanding direct-to-consumer business in couture, ready-to-wear and accessories. Its visual authorship remained deliberately plural: commissioned Gomeroi artists originated the cultural artwork, Gomeroi graphic designers translated it for textile, Johnson designed the garments, and specialist production partners turned those patterns into physical cloth.
