BULUUY MIRRII

Miyaay miyaay, or Seven Sisters, took BULUUY MIRRII back to New York in September 2023 through the independent Flying Solo runway. The eight-piece collection used galaxy-like 3D and screen-printed surfaces to carry the Seven Sisters story, setting vivid colour and celestial imagery against Johnson’s couture forms and compact collection scale.

The collection returned to Australia for Country to Couture in Darwin in August 2024, where its cultural narrative was presented within a First Nations-led fashion context. The two-stage trajectory—international independent platform first, national Indigenous runway second—made the collection central to the label’s transition from regional recognition to a broader export-facing audience.
