About this collection

Presented at 31 rue Cambon on 5 February 1954, Chanel’s return collection reopened the couture house after fifteen years. Its relaxed tweed suits, cardigan construction and rejection of the constricted New Look were attacked in France but received with greater enthusiasm in the United States.
