René Gruau’s illustration and Irving Penn’s photography informed chiaroscuro, ink-like line, feathered hats and dresses built from multiple layers of degradé tulle. The collection became Galliano’s final Dior couture presentation, ending his authored runway chronology before the February suspension and March dismissal.
