The silhouette feels enclosed and weighty, with structure working like a shell rather than a frame for conventional elegance. As a live point in Kawakubo’s ongoing womenswear practice, the season is better understood through density, resistance and bodily displacement than through summary language. The clothes hold their distance from ordinary dress, keeping the figure guarded, altered and unresolved through dark volume and sculptural weight.
