About this collection
Petrifaction, coded °017–018, concentrated DEEPTI’s interest in mineral and vulcanised surfaces. Documented pieces included garments described through vulcanised quartz and other altered substances, bringing the collection’s title into the physical behaviour of coats, footwear and treated cloth. Tailored form remained the containing structure for surfaces designed to appear hardened, weathered or transformed.
