About this collection
Pugh’s BA graduate collection used red-and-white striped inflatable forms to extend joints and interrupt the body’s ordinary outline. The balloon structures established an early vocabulary of exaggerated volume, synthetic surface and theatrical character, bringing the work to the attention of Dazed & Confused soon after graduation.
