Les Joueuses staged couture as play inside the subterranean halls of IRCAM. Fluorescent mouths, sculpted paper and feather headpieces, trailing tinsel, crochet and panels formed from recycled plastic bottles produced a deliberately unstable cast of characters. Hello Kitty and Kuromi figures carried the Sanrio collaboration into the show, while the location’s experimental sound culture intensified the collection’s sense of performance.
