About this collection
Givenchy developed waistless tunic and sack-line forms in 1957, releasing the body from a fixed seam through volume, knitted daywear and asymmetrical hems. The collection belongs to a documented exchange with Cristóbal Balenciaga’s earlier tunic and sack research, not to a claim of solitary invention.
