About this collection
McQueen’s Givenchy debut used a white-and-gold palette, ram-horn and winged forms, and classical drapery to construct a mythological couture image. Produced under severe time pressure, it began his eighteen-collection tenure and remains distinct from his eponymous Spring/Summer 1997 show.
