Angelo Tarlazzi’s first Guy Laroche collection presented the new haute couture succession five months after his appointment. Contemporary response read the work through orientalist and Ballets Russes references, while the continued Guy Douvier ready-to-wear studio made clear that Tarlazzi’s authority was confined to couture.
