Developed under severe time pressure, Richard René’s seventeen-look debut used black and white, radical reduction, exact pattern cutting and the open back associated with Mireille Darc’s 1972 film dress. Every look was intended for production, although the compressed schedule leaves the existing studio’s contribution unresolved.
