Halston Signature made its runway debut in New York in April 1997 under Randolph Duke, introducing the designer-priced tier of the first major Halston apparel revival after the 1990 closure. The line sat above the wider Lifestyle offer and restored a luxury runway identity to a name that had spent the first half of the decade largely outside regular fashion production.

The show established Duke as the principal public author of the revived house while opening space for a more complex internal design structure, with Kevan Hall joining during 1997 to lead the Signature line. Its importance lies in the return of Halston to a designer-led runway system after a genuine break in apparel continuity.
