About this collection
Spring/Summer 1999 was Helmut Lang’s first live New York runway, presented at the Dia Center for the Arts on 17 September 1998. By choosing September, Lang placed his show ahead of the established November New York schedule and triggered a wider move toward an earlier American fashion calendar.
The runway kept the integrated Hommes Femmes system intact after the headquarters relocation, making the geographic move visible in the house’s live presentation culture.
