Helmut Lang

Spring/Summer 2005 womenswear used striped canvas and shirting, short uniform jackets, sailor collars, chinos, platform espadrilles, draped dresses and string-and-pearl harnesses. Presented in Paris on 5 October 2004, it became the final public runway designed by Helmut Lang for the fashion house.

The show occurred as Prada completed its purchase of the remaining equity in the company, placing the last founder runway at the threshold of the ownership change that preceded Lang’s January 2005 exit.
