About this collection
MSSAM/ASSOU rejected the assumption that modern dress must remove ornament to reveal structure. The collection paired kente, Ntutuere cotton, Cameroonian tie-dye, Senegalese embroidery and Madagascan raffia with silk, wool and cleanly cut tailoring. Decorative techniques sometimes covered the garment and sometimes became its construction, making surface and silhouette inseparable parts of the same couture argument.
