Haute Bohemia turned itinerant aristocracy and late-nineteenth-century dress into richly layered silhouettes at the Château de Vincennes. Bias-cut slips, decorated outerwear, scarves, boots and accumulated accessories produced a mobile wardrobe whose apparent disorder was controlled through cut and colour.
