Nancy Cunard converted the writer and political activist’s severe image into elongated black-and-white dressing, narrow tailoring, stacked jewellery and a modernist tension between aristocratic polish and bohemian refusal. The collection showed Galliano’s growing ability to compress biography into a precise visual system.
