About this collection

Spring/Summer 2016 [sefiroth;] redirected JULIUS from clinical futurism towards ritual, reincarnation and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. Horikawa loosened the house palette with weathered browns, tans and stone-like neutrals, placing the clothing in a more organic and ascetic visual field.

Distressed linen, wrapping, layered drape and exposed skin produced the impression of nomadic or ceremonial clothing without abandoning the elongated JULIUS body. The season is significant because it demonstrated that Horikawa’s construction language could carry spiritual and archaic references as convincingly as it carried cyberpunk or industrial ones.
