About this collection
Nicola Glass presented her first full seasonal collection for Kate Spade New York at the New York Public Library on 7 September 2018. Spring/Summer 2019 was the house’s first runway show, placing a major change in presentation format alongside the beginning of Glass’s public seasonal authorship.
The collection developed the spade emblem across handbag hardware, stacked basket construction, prints and intarsia, while straightforward carryalls drew on the clarity of early Kate Spade bags. Accessories and clothing shared the same graphic vocabulary, giving Glass’s opening season a clear set of house codes that continued through her tenure.
