About this collection
999 was built with Ho99o9 as an active music and artwork collaborator rather than a distant influence. Sueyasu joined the duo’s abrasive punk and hip-hop performances to Tokyo Lolita references, vintage metal T-shirts, sleeveless tailoring, padlocked closures, masks and a wedding dress that engulfed the body.
Presented in the garden of the Chapelle Expiatoire, the collection set its noisy visual field against a restrained historical setting. UMBRO sportswear, Kae Tanaka and Ohiana artwork, HIZUME headwear, Kirin Tailors construction and other specialist credits made the show one of KIDILL’s clearest demonstrations of a living collaborative network.
