Noir Kei Ninomiya

At Comme des Garçons’ Aoyama headquarters in Tokyo, Noir Kei Ninomiya Spring/Summer 2022 narrows the setting while concentrating on compact construction. The strongest language comes from the line’s own grammar: black surface, assembled volume, body-framing structure and garments that turn craft into architecture. The disrupted early-2020s calendar is present in the atmosphere, but the clothes remain the centre of attention. Rather than treating the location as novelty, the presentation makes closeness and restraint part of the collection’s physical pressure.
