Noir Kei Ninomiya

For Spring/Summer 2024, Ninomiya pares the Noir vocabulary back to the mechanics of surface, frame and assembly. The Paris show draws attention to how a garment can be built as a structure before it becomes an image: repeated parts, compact volumes, black density and hard-soft contrast organise the body. The result is restrained rather than quiet, with pressure held inside the construction. Its force comes from disciplined making, controlled openings and the refusal to let embellishment detach from form.
