Public School New York

Public School’s Fall 2014 show was the label’s first runway and its first collection to include womenswear. Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne did not create a separate feminine proposition; they reworked the house’s herringbone coats, quilted jackets, capes and multilayered tailoring into a co-ed wardrobe built around shared New York codes.

The collection mixed tweed motocross jackets, ombré houndstooth track trousers, shearling, kimono closures and broad-brimmed hats. Its combination of urban sportswear, Japanese-influenced layering and altered tailoring converted the award-supported menswear label into a complete runway proposition without abandoning its original uniform logic.
