Stag extends Owens’s sculptural womenswear into a more militant, armour-like register. Cashmere sweats, metallic leather, faded denim, mink and shearling support funnel coats, patchwork peplums and a wedge-led uniform silhouette. The Lee Bontecou reference gives the collection a sharper sculptural charge, but its importance is practical as much as referential: it pushes the early jacket-and-drape system toward protective architecture, patchworked surfaces and a harder runway stance. It keeps the clothes readable while making the figure harder and more defensive.
