Wishbone marks an early release from the darker weight of Owens’s first Paris womenswear seasons. White organdy and chiffon carry the collection into an ethereal register, with regal asymmetry, gathered peplums and veiled hoods replacing some of the earlier dirt-toned severity. The collection is also shaped by a personal dedication, giving its fantasy world a more intimate charge. It matters as a lighter, autobiographical turn that still keeps the elongated Owens silhouette intact.
