Vicious SS 2014 womenswear is built around casting and movement as much as clothing. Step teams from four sororities replace the expected runway walk with choreographed stepping, turning synchrony, rhythm and collective force into the show’s main structure. The clothes stay practical and movement-facing: utilitarian tunics, shorts and performance garments that allow the body to stamp, shout and move in formation. The collection stands as one of Owens’s clearest statements that a runway can be a social and physical event, not only a sequence of looks.
