Tecuatl SS 2020 menswear turns autobiography into garment structure. Owens’s Mexican maternal lineage is carried through cotton, wool, Perspex, cowskin, lacing and ribbons rather than through decorative folklore. Loose wool track pants, laced jackets, ribboned cotton pieces and Perspex-heeled platforms make the body look mobile, strapped and ceremonial at once. The collection sits at a point where menswear becomes more openly personal, connecting Puebla, Mixtec references and border politics to the house’s existing language of proportion, leather and platformed stance.
