PANEL replaced conventional catwalk walking with an installation of ordinary wearable garments flattened, stretched or framed like pictures. Dressed bodies supplied the three-dimensional counterpart, turning the presentation into an inquiry into communication between designer, wearer, object and audience.

The surviving evidence treats the conflicting labels “A/W 1999–2000” and “2000 A/W” as one March 1999 body of work. A related wool-twill dress survives in the Kyoto Costume Institute as Dress (presented in a frame), inventory AC9773.
