About this collection
The Black and Gold theme creates a darker, more polished surface than the softer colour stories around it in tao’s recent sequence. Shown in the seventh-floor room at Comme des Garçons’ Minami Aoyama headquarters, Autumn/Winter 2025 uses contrast as touch: black grounds, metallic warmth, textile shine and measured layering rather than theatrical opulence. The palette lets Kurihara handle ornament with restraint, keeping the clothes intimate even when the surface becomes richer. Colour acts here as structure, not decoration alone. Surface and mood stay tightly joined.
