About this collection
For Autumn/Winter 2026, Tao Kurihara worked the revived tao line through abstract shape, circular motifs and the image language of Ruth van Beek. Shown in Tokyo at Comme des Garçons’ Minami-Aoyama headquarters, the presentation stays close to textile surface rather than dramatic runway theatre. The clothes are best understood through motif, placement and soft construction: pattern becomes rhythm, ornament becomes arrangement, and the body remains lightly held rather than aggressively reshaped. It extends tao’s current vocabulary of intimacy, craft and graphic textile play.
