About this collection
Spring/Summer 1991 demonstrated the labour and precision beneath Oldham’s exuberance. Surviving pieces include a hand-crocheted rayon bra covered with individually finished embroidered flowers, paired with a skirt wrapped in a hand-worked lei motif and Swarovski rhinestones. The collection helped define his early reputation for treating craft as the substance of the garment rather than surface garnish.
