About this collection
Vetements presented its third collection late at night in the basement club Le Dépôt, outside the official Paris schedule. The setting matched a wardrobe built from deconstructed uniforms and familiar urban clothing, including Sapeurs-Pompiers and Sécurité pieces, reconstructed denim and oversized tailoring.
The collection sharpened the house’s early method of taking socially coded garments and disturbing their proportion, construction and context. It also captured Vetements before its wider breakthrough, when the collective’s visibility was growing while several members still kept their identities private because of employment elsewhere.
