About this collection
In September 1920 Vionnet took a winter collection to the Savoy Hotel in San Sebastián for a fifteen-day presentation attended by Queen Victoria Eugenia. The travelling format placed Madeleine Vionnet’s post-war couture before an international clientele at a moment when the house still controlled access tightly and excluded commission agents and dressmakers from the advertised presentation.
